Local Business Donates $2,500 & Provides Lunch to 160 Tempe Police Officers
After COVID-19 canceled a company's annual holiday celebration plans, Tempe-based ECD Systems decided to use their event money to show their support and appreciation for the Tempe Police Department. On Friday, the ECD team went out to serve roughly 160 Tempe police officers, dispatchers and support personnel. Valley staple BBQ joint Honey Bear’s BBQ delivered and graciously discounted the meal as their own thank you to the Tempe PD.
ECD Systems is a proud member of True Blue Tempe, an advocacy group of local businesses and leaders who support the idea of a strong and well-run police department. To further show their appreciation and support, ECD Systems also presented a check for $2,500 to the Tempe Police Foundation.
Mike Bradley, the president and CEO of ECD Systems, has a personal connection and commitment to the police department as his father was a police officer for many years. Due to this, he strongly advocates for local police and does what he can to show his support.
“Our thanks is to you [police officers], you’re the ones that work hard, risk your lives, you risk your reputation and even your families put up with so much,” Mike said. “We just want you to know that you are not alone and businesses like us do care.”
